Quinni-Con 2015 Update

Hey Everyone!
Quinni-Con Con Chair here!
I hope you are just excited about Quinni-Con as we are! Unfortunately, I have some bad news. Due to a number of circumstances and barriers beyond our control, including issues with the availability of our venue, The Quinni-Con staff and I have decided to postpone Quinni-Con until 2016. If planning keeps going the way it is now, we feel that the 2015 convention will not be up to par with the standards set by previous years, and that is not what we want. My staff and I want to put on a convention that can live up to the expectations of all of our wonderful guests and attendees. The Quinni-Con committee and I are extremely sorry, and we know this is not the news you all wanted to hear; however, after much discussion, we have decided that this is the best course of action to take. During this time, we will be actively planning and training our new staff to prepare for an even bigger convention in 2016; and plans are already in action! Once again, we are very sorry. We hope you understand our decision and will be on board for Quinni-Con 2016! Stay tuned for special news and updates for a bigger and better Quinni-Con 2016!

Thank you,
Allison Beavers

Quinni-Con Travel Tips!

Heyo! We know that there was some confusion last year on our location, because various map sites lead people astray, but have no fear! We have a very simple guide this year to make sure no one gets lost.

Starting off, there is a 99% chance you are going to be turning left from Whitney Ave onto Sherman Ave. When you turn onto Sherman, follow these instructions!

At about 1/4 a mile, you will be turning RIGHT into the entrance of Quinnipiac Universities York Hill Campus. To the left of the entrance will be a parking lot for a jogging trail. The entrance is a LONG, VERY BIG hill. If you are not going up a super steep hill you are in the wrong place.

Here are some pictures to help guide everyone!

Your GPS/Map instructions might tell you to turn onto a dirt road. DONT DO IT! That is just bad directions on their part.

Once you get up the hill you'll reach the roundabout.

Go around the roundabout. Follow the signs for the TD Bank Sports Center. Then park in the TD Bank Sports Center parking lot! Don't go to the TD Bank Sports Center! We are going to try to have some security guards around to direct traffic, or our own staff. Follow the sidewalk up to the Student Center.

The building you arrive at should look like this:

You'll be able to see it from the parking lot!

Then you're at Quinni-Con!

At-door registration closing times

This is a reminder to everyone who didn't pre-register for Quinni-Con but plans on registering at the door.

  • Registration on Saturday closes at: 5pm

The Royal Bazaar!

The Royal Bazaar is Quinni-Con’s first Swap Meet. What is a swap meet?

“Strictly defined, a swap meet is an informal gathering for the barter or sale of used articles or handicrafts. Swap meets have now become synonymous with flea markets, which are open-air markets where cheap and second-hand goods are sold. For clarification purposes, a swap meet is a gathering where individuals barter goods with each other or where others come to purchase goods at the gathering with actual money.”

If you're interested in going to The Royal Bazaar, make sure you read over the rules on our Policies and Forms page! (This event will take place at 1pm on Saturday, March 1st.)
