Do I have to dress up in costume to attend?

No you don't. Cosplaying is not required, it's an option. Keep in mind that if you do cosplay, please make sure your costume is suitable for a family friendly convention.

Am I able to sell/present hentai material at Quinni-Con?

No pornographic material is allowed at all at Quinni-Con as we are a family convention.

What is it and what is its purpose?

Quinni-Con is a celebration of art, film, food, music, dance, and Japanese culture. There are many different events at the convention that range from a café to movie screenings and guest speakers to dances. The whole purpose of the convention is to bring people of all ages together to have a great time, make friends, and try something different!

Where and when is the convention?

Quinni-Con will be at Quinnipiac University's York Hill Campus at the Rocky Top Student Center. The address is 305 Sherman Avenue, Hamden, CT, 06518. The convention will be taking place Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 4 p.m.

Who can attend?

People of all ages are welcome to attend! There will be something at Quinni-Con for everyone!

How many people normally attend?

Quinni-Con 2012 had about 500 people in attendance and Quinni-Con 2013 had about 700 people in attendance.

How much does it cost to attend?

The Quinnipiac University Anime Club is putting Quinni-Con on as a free convention. No one will have to pay for admission and no one will have to pay to be a vendor. Instead, we just ask that everyone register correctly with the convention.

Where can people stay overnight?

There is a Hotels section on the convention website that lists a few local hotels. There is nowhere on either Quinnipiac campus for attendees to stay and no one is allowed to stay in the student center after midnight.

Is there an artist's ally/vendor room?

There will be a combination of the two that, for now, we are calling a Dealer's Alley. They will be selling their art or merchandise at tables inside the convention. We're very excited and grateful for our artists and vendors to be coming!

How much does it cost to be a vendor?

It doesn't cost anything to be a vendor because the convention is a completely free convention. Not just anyone is allowed to sell things, though. It is required to register with the convention as a vendor and gain permission.

Can I pre-register?

Yes, please! Pre-registering helps us plan the convention to better accommodate you! There is an area right on our site to register for the convention. There will also be a table during the convention for registration.

How will registration work durring the convention?

There will be registration tables during the convention (one for under 18 years old and one for above 18 years old) that will, as of right now, be running for the course of the convention. As they say, ‘walk-ins welcome!’

Will there be security or staff members at the convention?

There will constantly be Quinni-Con staff at the convention to make sure everything is running smoothly and that it is a safe and fun environment. There will also be Quinnipiac staff and Quinnipiac Security either in the student center or nearby to it.

Are there rules for cosplay or weapons?

Yes, there are. Please check out our Weapons & Costume policy and remember that Quinni-Con is open to all ages.

Where can I find the convention rules?

Convention rules are available on our Forms & Policies area of our website, as well as Minor Forms along with any other forms the convention has.
